When the AI XPRIZE asked us to pick one of humanity's "Grand Challenges", some may wonder why we chose storytelling. We believe stories, especially personal ones, have the power to shape the future. Our ongoing and patent pending work is creating an AI biographer that can interpret and remix the meaning in our narratives – those “semantics” that were hard earned with life experience – for ourselves and future generations.

The biographer has two pieces, a gently nagging but conversational agent to encourage and capture our stories, and a context and individualized aware agent to remix those stories equally conversationally with others.

Capturing life experiences and, in aggregate, cultures is just the first step. We believe there will be plenty of other applications in the future as well, from education, to wellness, and even fiction and entertainment.
